Along the Great Wall No 1 Tourist Highway, visitors can savor Youyu salt-fried lamb, Shanyin coarse grain pancakes, and Datong oat noodles.
The Taihang No 1 Tourist Highway's highlights include Wutai braised tofu balls, Xiyang braised oat noodles, Licheng baked buns, and Huguan lamb soup.
"These landmark dishes are a fusion of regional ecology, history, and folk wisdom, representing the living heritage of cultural traditions," said an official from the Shanxi Culinary and Restaurant Industry Association. "They act as taste messengers across time and space, transforming into tangible, participatory, and shareable cultural IPs through the involvement of visitors."
