2nd Jinju Opera Festival to kick off on Sept 16

The 2nd Jinju Opera Festival is set to take place from Sept 16 to Oct 15 in Taiyuan, Shanxi province. This year's festival promises to be a grand celebration of Jinju opera, featuring four major segments and 14 activities.
Nearly 1,000 performers from 16 troupes across Shanxi, Inner Mongolia, Shaanxi, and Hebei will give over 35 performances, offering audiences a rich artistic experience and showcasing the latest creative achievements in Jinju opera.
The festival's performance and broadcast segment is packed with highlights, including the "Liyuan Jincai" Jinju Opera Showcase and opera excerpts featuring outstanding young actors, providing a captivating feast for the senses.
The exhibition segment includes the Jinju Opera Special Exhibition and the Shanxi Ancient Opera Stage Photo Exhibition, which together explore the deep cultural roots of this traditional art form.
The academic exchange segment will feature expert reviews and forums for young playwrights, promoting the development and appreciation of Jinju opera.
The festival will implement a low-ticket-price policy to make performances accessible to a broader audience, while also offering multiple purchasing options. For those unable to attend in person, an "Excellent Works Broadcast" will be available online, allowing opera enthusiasts to enjoy the performances remotely.
