The China (Shanxi) - Singapore Industry Cooperation Exchange Forum was held on June 25 in Singapore, with over 40 representatives from government, financial institutions, cultural organizations, business associations, and media from both China and Singapore in attendance.

Cooperation between Singapore and Shanxi province has deepened in recent years. In 2024, the import and export volume between the two regions reached 6.63 billion yuan ($925.38 million), representing a 20.2 percent year-on-year increase. Shanxi continues to advance the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries, fostering the growth of strategic emerging industries and providing ample development opportunities for enterprises from both sides.

Bai Yibo, chairman of the Membership Affairs Committee at the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCCI), noted the strong complementarity between Singapore and Shanxi in economic development, particularly in high-end equipment manufacturing, green energy, smart cities, and modern services, offering vast potential for cooperation.

Liu Yiyu, deputy director of the Shanxi Investment Promotion Bureau, hoped that both sides would adopt the concept of "open development" and jointly embark on a new chapter of cooperation in green energy, technological innovation, and cultural tourism integration.

During the project introduction session, representatives from the Shanxi Transformation and Comprehensive Reform Demonstration Zone, Shanxi Sanjin Rural Culture and Tourism Co, and Singapore's Annaik Group exchanged views on industry development, location advantages, and cooperation opportunities.

The forum also featured a roundtable discussion on "Collaborative Innovation with a Global Perspective - Shanxi-Singapore Financial and Capital Market Cooperation", where both sides explored the extensive opportunities and prospects for cooperation in the financial and capital markets between Shanxi and Singapore.
